Personalize Outgoing Messages

NowRenting is an all-in-one consolidated messaging solution. When leads respond to your Listing, whether by text message, email or by filling out a web form, NowRenting begins the process of communicating with them. The first step of that process is to respond to their initial inquiry in some way.

To set up your response, click the settings menu in the upper right corner and select Company, then choose the Outgoing Messages tab.

The Text message X to new leads dropdown lets you choose how to respond to initial inquiries by text message. NowRenting can send a screening question survey, a rental application, or an invitation to schedule a showing.

The Email X to new leads dropdown lets you choose how to respond to initial inquiries made by email or web form. NowRenting can send a screening question survey, a rental application, or an invitation to schedule a showing.

The rest of the fields on the page let you specify the text of the messages sent to new or existing Leads, depending on how they contacted you and what kind of response NowRenting is sending them.

  • Email screening questions to leads: This is the message that will accompany your screening questions, when sent by email.
  • Text message screening questions to leads: This is the message that will accompany your screening questions, when sent by text message.
  • Email application to leads: This is the message that will accompany an application, when sent by email.
  • Text message application to leads: This is the message that will accompany an application, when sent by text message.
  • Email showing request to leads: This is the message that will accompany a request to schedule a showing, when sent by email.
  • Text message showing request to leads: This is the message that will accompany a request to schedule a showing, when sent by text message.
  • Outgoing voicemail to new leads: This is the machine-generated greeting that Leads who call your NowRenting number for the first time will hear.
  • Outgoing voicemail to existing leads: If a number is already in NowRenting’s system, this is the greeting that will be played in response to phone calls from that number.

Two variables can be used: {PropertyAddress} and {URL}. In the actual message, these will be replaced with the relevant property address or URL. (Text messages must contain the {URL} variable.)

Individual Listing Settings

You could decide that a particular Listing should respond to emails differently. To set this up, go to the Listing’s details page, then select the Settings pill and the Outgoing Messages tab. Choose whether NowRenting will respond to new emails with screening questions, an application, or an invitation to schedule a showing.
